Thanksgiving day

Tomorrow is the fourth Thursday of November. Every year on this date American people gather for a day of feasting, football and family. Although the celebrations today are quite different from the original 1621 harvest meal, it is still a day for Americans to meet around the table.

Some facts about Thanksgiving today:
  • In the US, about 280 million turkeys are sold for the Thanksgiving celebrations.
  • Californians are the largest consumers of turkey in the United States.
  • Although Thanksgiving is widely considered an American holiday, it is also celebrated on the second Monday of October in Canada.
  • Black Friday is the Friday after Thanksgiving in the United States, the beginning of the traditional Christmas shopping season.

Idioms with pink

An idiom is a combination of words that,in addition to a literal meaning, have a figurative meaning due to its common usage. There are thousands of idioms and they occur in all languages. In English there are at least 25.000 idiomatic expressions. It's really funny that when you talk a lot, "hablas por los codos" if you are Spanish, but if you are English "you talk the hind legs off a donkey".

Today I want to show you some idioms with the color pink.

Now two questions for you:
-What happens when you see pink elepants?
-What is the meaning of 'pinkie'?
